L Family {Seattle Family Photographer}

I photographed this family when their little guy was born 2 months ago and I was elated when they contacted me to come do some more family photos.

It was so much fun following this family around.  I learned we had a lot in common (we both have family in the Corpus Christi, TX area). I loved hearing stories about items in their home.  Old license plates, sports cabinet, etc.  Their daughter also gave me a tour including pointing out her favorite items in her room.  Man, I love working with kids.

We braved the wind and cold for a few family poses outside and it was worth it because this family is absolutely stunning!  I am only posting a few sneak peeks here because I want to keep them surprised :)

Thank you Brianna for inviting me into your home! I had such a great time documenting your family's love and happiness for one another!  I can't wait to work with you again!

Best,
Kat

W Family {Seattle Family Photographer}

I had the ultimate Seattle experience on Saturday when I agreed to meet the W family at Pike Place for their family photos.  I arrived an hour early to scout out the scene, browse the market, and enjoy some coffee.  Oh, I love the flexibility of my job.  Yet, in that hour, I saw sunshine, rain, hail, wind, and back to sunshine.  Seattle you keep me on my toes.  I was a little nervous as to how the weather was going to work but was grateful that Pike Place was right there if we needed to dart inside.

This family of four showed up with their beaming, brown-eyed, 3 year old who instantly took a liking to me.  I am not going to lie, I loved her! She reminded me of myself as a child: sassy, independent, and bossy.  Watch out world, because I am pretty sure this little girl is going to be running the country someday!  Oh, and the little 16-week old dude that tagged along?  Despite all the spitting up, he is the most chill baby I have ever met!

I had so much fun chasing this family, darting in between cars and people to get the ultimate shot.  We wandered into the market and explored the gum wall, which thankfully this 3 year old didn't really notice.

In usual Seattle fashion, it stopped raining immediately after our session.

Thank you Paul & Jeanette for letting me capture your family! I had such a wonderful time and cannot wait to see you next year!

Best,
Kat

T's Family {Seattle Family Photographer}

I have been photographing this family for what seems like years now and I was elated when T contacted me about photographing her whole family.  We are talking 4-generations.   The weather was beautiful but cold and despite a cranky toddler, we were able to get some priceless photos in.

I have loved getting to know this family and each time we meet, I learn more about them and have fun documenting their lives.  They are silly, fun, and genuine and remind very much of my Montana family.

Thank you so much Tamara for contacting me.  I loved photographing your wonderful family on Sunday and I am so excited share these photos with you.  I am so glad you wanted to document something so wonderful.  Call me for the 5-generation photo, please?

Best,
Kat

Free Christmas Card Template!

Wahoo! The holidays have finally arrived and I have been busy designing custom holiday cards!  I have had so much fun making unique cards that I decided to share the love.  Here are two templates available for download!  I included both a horizontal and vertical format!

Template A

 Template B

Adorable, right?!?! Now, these aren't my Christmas cards.  I designed something much different, but now that I see how awesome these are, I kinda wished I waited to order my own! I guess there is always next year!

For those photoshop pros, this might be an easy task.  For those who have less experience, I tried to make this as easy as possible.  Hopefully, this isn't too confusing!  If you have any questions or need help, please email me at happymamaphotography@gmail.com

Download Templates Here:
Template A: http://www.4shared.com/photo/FvkAqa6w/template_A.html
Template B: http://www.4shared.com/photo/mxt0KEW7/template_B.html

Some Notes:
1.) They are sized to 4x6.  Why?  Because you can print them as a 4x6 photo from your favorite printer (I recommend Costco) for about 15 cents each, or less.  That is very affordable!  So I expect you send me a holiday card!

2.) You will have to create a 4shared account to download, but its free!

3.) To use your template, you must have Photoshop.  If you don't have photoshop, but love the template, email me and I can help you out.

4.) To use your template, open the template in Photoshop.  Put your desired image in the template (make sure you hide or delete my family's darling photo).  Click on the signature to change your text. Depending on your version of photoshop, you may not have the font, so either choose an appropriate substitute or download the correct font: http://www.dafont.com/kg-eyes-wide-open.fontYou can adjust the location of "Happy Holidays" but don't change the text, otherwise you will lose those beautiful snowflakes.

5.) Flatten your image and save as a JPEG.  Now get your cards printed!

Happy Holidays!

P Family::Christmas {Seattle Family Photographer}

Remember this sweet family from August?  Well, their little boy is growing like crazy and they needed family photos done.  I was so elated to see them again as we had so much fun roaming Gas Works when this little guy was just a babe.

They were inspired by a set of Christmas lights and had an empty apartment (as they just moved) so we had some fun and lit up the room.  P was very excited to play with these lights and especially loved grabbing them with his teeny tiny toes.

Jen & Jeremy, it was so fun to see you again! Thank you so much for contacting me to photograph your family.  It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!  Happy holidays!

Best,
Kat

baby K {Seattle Newborn Photographer}

When I saw that my dear old college roomie was expecting her first baby I jumped at the chance to photograph her sweet little boy.  Little did any of us know that baby K would make his debut almost a month early! He just wanted in on the party!!

His mom and I go way back and I can't wait to share all the secrets of our college days. But that will have to wait 21 more years. For now, I just want to share his adorableness!  Baby K was quiet and calm and reminded me of his sweet mama.

Thank you so much for opening your doors to me Kris and letting me photograph your bundle of joy! I am so thrilled for you and can't wait until he is big enough for a playdate.

Best,
Kat
